Thank you Ed for submitting this video clip… and thank you Drew for this awesome gift. The Competition Song has created many happy memories for the Pulling Together family and Sliammon Nation. Miss you all!
This is Nathan. He’s from Tswwassen and has skipped many Pulling Together Journeys in the Tswwassen canoe. The Tswwassen canoe was not part of the Pulling Together 2012 fleet but it was great to see Nathan at the Journey… skipping or pulling in a canoe here and there. It was great talking to you and hope to see you again soon! Love the badge on your cedar hat.
This is Val. She was unable to paddle but wanted to contribute to Pulling Together by volunteering her time in the kitchen. She and a crew of a few prepared and cooked food for the Pulling Together 2012 fleet and those participating in the canoe journey from the Sliammon Nation. Let me tell you… the food was phenomenal. Thank you kitchen crew and Val for all of your good work. The food was delicious and it was appreciated. All my relations.
Monday – July 9, 2012 – Day 7
Ingrid, the bow-princess of SD46 canoe, was pulling throughout the journey in a lot of pain. A shiatsu saviour from the DFO canoe, a fellow bow-princess, gave Ingrid a complimentary treatment while we waited to depart. Within a few minutes, miracles happened and Ingrid pulled the last day pain-free. Yes!
This is Carolyn. As you can see, she has gone out of her way after her first day of pulling to fight off the sun. A bandana, a sun hat, long sleeves, and yoga pants… yup… she was all covered up. This is Carolyn’s first Pulling Together Journey and she pulled with the SD46 Spirit Canoe. She is also the principal of the Sunshine Coast Alternative Schools. Carolyn was a great addition to the SCPT2012 family. She ran every day with Josh. They ran for at least an hour almost every morning, then they would pull in the SD46 canoe for the rest of the day. Now that’s impressive. It was great getting to know you Carolyn… safe travels to Africa. See you in September. All my relations.
This is Kim. Pulling Together 2012 is her first canoe journey. We just met during the journey but as it turned out, we were fellow employees at School District No.46 (Sunshine Coast). To her, I was a name in her database. Kim is the computer person with the school district. She took a break from the computer to pull in a canoe. Apparently, she paddles in outriggers regularly, but Kim was a great addition to the SCPT2012 family. We had great conversations throughout the journey. We talked about work, spirituality, and living authentically. I found a kindred spirit, except that she is a bit more introverted than I am. But, we’re all the same. Thank you Kim for the chats. I truly enjoyed them. All my relations.
This is Marilyn. She skipped the Grandmother’s Canoe last year in Pulling Together 2011 – from Tofino to Port Alberni. Marilyn has been on several Journeys with different canoe families. Her major contribution to Pulling Together was being the fleet’s first aid attendant. Superb. Marilyn was unable to pull in this year’s Journey due to other commitments, but it was great to see her at Sliammon. She came to visit the SCPT family and got to pull with the Dolphin Spirit on the last day of Pulling Together 2012. It was great to see you Marilyn.
